Alright, I know I’m a few days behind on this and it isn’t breaking news. I bided my time, though, because of the uproar over prejudicial and stupid comments made by….wait for it….morons on the Fox News Network from the Fox and Friends people. Hold up…’Fox and Friends’…seriously? How old is the demographic for this show? Or maybe more to the point, what is the mental maturity of the demographic of this show? Anyway, if you don’t know what I’m talking about, and you want to see the ignorance for yourself, go here and here. I don’t even want to embed this trash on my page.

What I’d rather focus on is the fact that the University of Missouri is open minded enough to add Wiccan holidays to its calendar. (If you want to see how I got to that calendar, go here and click ‘Major Religious Holidays’. Just wanted to give proof that that link came from University of Missouri.) How wonderful is it that we live in a world where religious beliefs of all faiths are starting to become respected? One of the things both clips mention is that there must not be many Wiccans because none of the ‘journalists’ (I use that term for these people VERY loosely) know any. Check out this religion census report from the U.S. Census Bureau. Keep in mind that the numbers listed are in the thousands, so 342 for Wiccans is actually 342,000. Also keep in mind (like I need to remind you, anyway) that a lot of Wiccans and Pagans keep their religious beliefs private and may not have reported openly on the survey.

Now, fine, the numbers for Wiccans and Pagans aren’t huge, but they’re large enough not to be ignored. So, I say, bright blessings on the University of Missouri for acknowledging all faiths. If you’re looking for a college, this one may be for you!
